Tell us what you thought about The Dark Knight when you saw it.
Personally, I thought it was an epic, A+ movie. And I don't even like Batman.
Heath Ledger as the Joker = Amazing beyond belief.

im crying into my teddy bear because i cant go see it (that reminds me,where IS my teddy bear....?) anyway, no one to watch the baby and no one to go with, plus finding a theater that shows it in english would be a PITA. and the website i used to use to watch tv shows has been shut down (they had movies too)so i guess im waiting for the dvd. AND I LOVE BATMAN! he was my second crush as a kid, right after the car from night rider! lol

I saw it the other day and have to say that it was a brilliant crime drama inspired by some of the great Batman graphic novels. It's not just your typical comic book adaptation and Ledger's work here is simply pure genius! The whole cast gives a wonderful performance, in fact. Well done Chris and Jonah Nolan! Chilling.

Honestly, it wasn't a bad movie, it was just way too long.
It was well done, the Joker is brilliant in it, but overall, I don't think I'd sit through 2.5 hours to watch it again.

I thought it was very very good. I saw it at midnight and then again on Sunday. I actually found the length more endurable the second time; don't know why.
Heath Ledger really does live up to the hype. I don't think he could have played it better.

Amazing. Just amazing. Not bored or fidgety at any point, which is unusual for me watching a long film.
Would definately see it again.

I'm just waiting to see it for the second time too. I think Bale deserves some praise and hype as well. Batman is truly the epitome of cool. However, the one bad thing about the Batman films are his ladies so if they worked on that, Nolan's works could be flawless. Having said that, I love the fact that there's no room for predictable, cliched romance in the Batman films because he simply doesn't need it.
And also, I thought the film's score by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard was as brilliant as the one for the first film. Great filming accompanied by great orchestral pieces and you get a mind-blowing bigass movie.

Why would Batman Returns have anything to do with this movie? Besides the inclusion of Batman, that is.

oh and, batman begins is kinda like a prequel. i think (not sure its been a while since ive seen any batman movie) "the dark knight" is like the second prequel (again im not sure as i havent see the end of it) so story wise, it's
batman begins
the dark knight
batman
batman returns
and the rest is all blurry in my memroy as they SUCKED.
kinda like star wars, 4,5 & 6 came out 20 something years BEFORE 1,2 & 3.

Besides, with Batman I think it's better to look at the new ones as separate.

You're right. Though it's not just better to look at it like that, it's correct.
The old series of Batman films are completely unrelated to the new set. They figured they could make it better, so they did. They're not just adding to it, they're revamping it.

It was good, I liked it heaps. I'm not the biggest Batman fan around, though, but, having seen the previous movies and knowing basically all I need to know, I liked "The Dark Knight". Two-Face looked like just he did in the comics, I was so amazed at that - props to Chris Nolan for the best CGI I've seen in ages. :)

I couldn't agree more. And the person that voted they "hated it" just committed a crime against film, if you ask me.
I'd say it's an instant top 10 for me, if not top 5.
This is what the critic in the paper said about it;
(after gushed over Ledger) The same can't be said for Christian Bale, who's the worst Batman since Val Kilmer uttered the infamous "chicks dig the car" line in Batman Forever. Bale disappears in the suit, no character, no emotion and even worse is that raspy voice he adopts sounds more like Homer Simpson doing his Horse Whisperer impression than a menacing and mysterious Dark Avenger of the Knight.
..hackneyed dialog (Dent actually utters the groan inducing line, "It's always darkest before the dawn. And the dawn is coming".).
That's just bitching for the sake of bitching. I know that's what a critic does, and he gave the movie Grade A, but fuck, really reaching for it there I think.

i loved the movie but i had enough of the Heath Ledger thing. i enjoyed Heath's role as the Joker so much, but when someone says "No one is gonna be the Joker anymore coz Ledger owns that role", i say stop the hype please. Heath handled the role perfectly, but that doesn't mean NO ONE can ever equal or even top his acting as THE Joker. cmon..

Iron man is no doubt Marvel's best movie, Spiderman 3 was just a retarded movie.
Every 10 movies marvel does, only 2 are good; in the other hand, DC releases just a couple of them and they are all impressive, kicking Marvel in the ass...
Anyways, Watchmen are coming next year, and i'm pretty sure it'll be way better than any other comic based movie done til then.

Great film. Not as smooth as Batman Begins. It's about twenty minutes too long. The storyline was somewhat chocker-block but I think they handled it the best way they could.

Okay, maybe not better. Completely different versions of the same character. It's just annoying how no one seems to acknowledge him anymore, since his version of the joker was also pretty damn good.

agreed. Jack Nicholson's Joker was right on the spot too.
and for some reason i really like the playful Joker, the one on the animated series, withe Harle Quinn.. i think the dark (original) Joker is a joke. i fear the "happy" Joker more than the Joker in TDK. if the movie actually showed the Joker slashing peoples faces with his knife, i could not be any happier.
and for also some reason that i would not expose, i also dislike that seemingly repetitive line of Ledger in the movie: "Do you want to know where I got these scars?"

Personally, I thought they were both great, but they were so different to a point where you can't really compare them successfully.
I thought that was nifty, how everytime he said that line the story that followed was different. It underlined his psychotic tendancies, as well as the fact that he's clearly a compulsive liar, and made me wonder how he really got them.
