I saw the preview to the MP movie looks like it's going to be badass and the only other good video game movie next to Silent Hill

Looks like crap,to be honest. That's hard to say, because I love Max Payne. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong when it comes out.

Max Payne was awesome. The prospect of a Max Payne movie looks awesome too. The actual movie, based on the trailer? Not so much.
Mark Wahlberg was WRONG for the part. He doesn't have that Max Payne voice at all.

Hmm wow negativity. Can't say anything about Rob1 other than hopefully you are proved wrong; I'm figuring it's gonna be good since Sam Lake (writer of Max Payne) is connected with the movie therefore leading me to assume it's going to be pretty damn good, well written, and at least stick pretty close to the game.
And to Widge the only person who can do Max Payne is James McCaffrey although James looks nothing like Max Payne so you'd have to have Sam Lake with James's voice. I really don't know anyone who has the unique voice James used or anyone who can mimic the signature half smile of Sam Lake. Mark's a good actor and I think he can pull it off. At least they kept Max Payne a man and didn't turn him into a girl (Silent Hill) or rid the movie of a signifficant character from the game series with no explanation as to where she went or what happened to her (Resident Evil:Extinction with Jill) The director has a couple decent movies under his belt Behind Enemy Lines, The Omen, and Flight of the Pheonix so lets just all be thankful Uwe Boll has nothing to do with this

I'm not saying EXACT voice, I'm saying something glose to it. Gerard Butler and Hugh Jackman would've been better choices for this.

Damn those would've been, I never thought of those two. Still though at least they got a credibly actor to portray Max Payne I guess we can be happy with that. I think the original guy they were gonna use was... damn I forgot who but he was an even worse choice

I didnt care for the game so therefore I dont care for the movie.
*shrug*
Maybe I'll catch it late at night on HBO when I wake up on the couch from a drunken stupor at 3am.

same here. it looks terribly bad. have you seen the black angels and all that crap they added to the story line? i mean, i havenīt played to max payne 2, but i doubt it had anything to do with demons and angels...The problem when you add that kind of stuff to make the movie look cool is that it never looks cool because they treat those "symbols" in a VERY shallow way. I have the feeling it will be as bad as Constantine.
Itīd have been a good movie if it was done right.
btw, the guy in Ugly Betty, isnīt he the one the guy that was max payne at least in max payne 1? in the kind of comic frames interludes between stages?

Wahlberg's proved his talent. Can't wait to watch this. I didn't even know it was going to come out...Tropic Thunder isn't even out here yet. Jeez.
