this is one of the worse covers i ever listened in youtube, this band destroied with some lp songs like shadow of the day, breaking the habit and others
this band is horrible, i hope which they never get a record deal :mad:

it lacks the raw grit and emotion that chester manages to put into the song, but seriously, it's acoustic, so what do you expect from them? it's not the greatest cover, but it's not that bad, IMO.

Um, seriously, its not bad at all. I dont know what your problem is, I've seen his other covers and he's really talented. He has a really unique voice aswell. Its not a bad cover at all. As for the second link, I admit its a little too boybandish for my taste, but the actual cover itself isnt bad. There's many other covers out on youtube that can be considered crap, but not these.

First of all, he has an ACCENT, Canadian specifically. I know this cuz I've seen alot of his videos and he's done a very good job with his covers. So it WILL sound weird since you seem to comparing them to LP.

Second: you really don't understand the real meaning of "worse covers." Seriously, his voice is very good. This cover is about an average to an above average cover. THIS:

Third: If you think in terms of his style, that whole pop/punk or alternative style, then you can say that it's really good. If think in terms of Linkin Park, you would say it sucks. COVERS AREN'T MEANT TO BE COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL ARTIST. Barely anybody has the voice of Chester, so does that mean that if you cover it, you should be as good or like Chester? NO, you're supposed to sing it YOUR WAY. Covers suck if the singer is crappy, not because they don't sound like LP.

Hang on a minute. While I agree that Linkin Park's versions are always the best, this guy does not do crap covers of them. I've been a fan of his for over a year and a half and that's because I saw his really old Breaking The Habit cover. I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion, so I'm not trying to have a go at anyone. But this guy is amazing, I even bought his band's album a couple of months ago. :p

EDIT: And I just saw the link at the bottom of the original post too. Again, I found that band about a month ago and I thought they were good. Just because they don't sound like the original doesn't make them bad covers. I play piano myself and I know a lot of Linkin Park songs, so personally I like hearing someone play a Linkin Park song well.

Boyce Avenue's cover of Shadow of the Day is the greatest Linkin Park cover ever recorded by anyone, anywhere. It's beautiful. The only thing I don't like about it is that they shortened the song, but it's really not that big of a deal. That Leave Out All the Rest cover isn't half bad either, dude has a good voice, he just needs to figure the chords out a little better for the guitar part.

Doing a song in a different manner than the original does not make it a bad cover, it just makes you an idiot for thinking so. The thread starter is probably one of those people who thought MTM was bad because it sounded different, thinks Rick Rubin was a bad producer because he's different, and in general, hates anything that's different.

i listened other songs of this group and i see they be a lot stupid just making covers, is so hard for "musicians" made original lyrics to sell they product?
this kind of chad kroeger voice is really annoying for me
and lp songs are so good which nobody can cover this
now if he got some green day song or any "umbrella" even me can sing this

i didn't really like the guitar... but he's got a pretty good voice...
