Okay so a few people on here will know that I'm a complete movie nut. This thread is vaguely inspired by a conversation Sandra and I had last night, and if I can be arsed (and if people take to it) then it may be the first of many. Who knows.

I don't know how many of you will have seen the movie Say Anything, but it's one of my favourite movies. I'm very into the 80s teen movies at the moment.. so yeah. There's a reasonably "famous" scene in this movie in which the main character, Lloyd Dobler, stands outside his ex-girlfriend's house and serenades her with some song on his boombox:

I would like to hear "the fragile" by NIN or "Join me in death" by H.I.M.

I chose them because both songs represent being together whatever may happens.
Both songs make me emotional and mean a lot for me.

Okay so I've thought about it, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm having a very uninventive day. So I'd have to say that my personal choices would be:

"Beating Heart Baby" - Head Automatica. I've chosen this one because it's my favourite song at the moment, and hearing it makes me smile. I love it. :/

Though, on a more romantic kinda front, I have three song choices:

"First Day of My Life" - Bright Eyes.
"Down" - Something Corporate.

..actually, I've just forgotten the third one.
Anyways, the two listed there I've chosen because because of a combination of the lyrics and the music itself. Those songs always make me think about stuff, and they mean quite a lot to me. So they're not the most inventive of choices, but in trying to find an answer for this thread I kinda realised.. I don't currently know enough love-esque songs. :p


Oh.. thinking about it, "Boys Don't Cry" by The Cure would be a pretty good one too. :]

see, that song means something to me too. cause of the way i discovered Head Automatica in the first place. my friend from arizona just made me hear the song and i totally loved it. so if someone would play that, i'd just think about her instead of think of the gesture, you know?

love is always a complicated thing. but like emma said, if the song was sang by the person it would have a much stronger impact on me, whatever song might it be. cause then, the song might be well or not well sang and that would make a huge difference lol also the fact that the person that's singing will be exposing a small part of herself, making him/her somewhat vulnerable. you open your heart completely and it's like you're naked right in front of love itself.

That's like how my sister's house is. The part that's the living room now, was like a drive way, or something to do with outside. And my nieces room was the living room. i don't think that would happen. cause if the blinds are closed, there's no light coming in. so there's a huge different between the blinds opened and closed. so whenever there's a bit of light, i immediately know it. and cause i usually dress when i'm up and so i can't miss the action that's going through the window :p
