This is a picture taken from a building on Main Street in the city where I grew up during the funeral precession of a man named Jeff McLochlin. He was a United States Marine was that killed in Afganistan on July 7, 2006. I went to school with his oldest son. Jeff was also a police officer in Rochester. If you look at the top left, you can see a little bit of his two police cruisers which were both parked on the courthouse lawn, covered in flowers. The American flag can also be seen flying in the right hand corner. If you've never heard of a thing called "The Patriot Guard," they're a gang of motorcyclists that ride with the funeral precession of deceased soldiers to protect their families from anti-war protesters. When I'm home, I live right in front of a giant, 7 store parking lot. When I woke up the morning of this particular funeral, the parking lot behind my house was filled with about 100 members of "The Patriot Guard." I cried. My brother is in the United States Army, serving in Iraq right now. I'd like to think that they would do the same for him. I was actually there on the side of that street, with all those people.

Most people can see why I hate George W. Bush now.

So, quoting the song, I'll ask all the people who support him::

What kind of father would take his own daughters' rights away?
What kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?

George W. Bush -

How can you say no child is left behind?
We're not dumb and we're not blind.
They're all sitting in your cells while you pave the road to Hell.

I'm not really very good with answering political questions and talking about them, as being only 15, not everything makes sense to me yet. But I think I see what you mean. Because of certain people with so called "power" innocent people have been killed, or are forced to do things they shouldn't be doing. I don't even remember how the fight in Iraq started, but all I know is that it's not innocent people's jobsto defend us. They all have families, which I don't think those "powerful" people really care about.

That didn't make any sense >__< But I understand how you hate him.

No, not at all. I hate him for more reasons. But that's one of the main reasons. This is my brothers 2nd time there. He was fucked over. :)

And I think I'm going to vote for Obama.

Yeah, me too. My friend thinks I'm sexist for not wanting Clinton, but I just don't think she's the best.

How can I be sexist against her if I'm a woman?

yeah, that makes no sense at all. And if women vote clinton just because she's a woman, then your country is fucked (and for that matter the rest of the world is too)

You're telling me.

I dunno. I just hope that our next president can fix this. I mean Christ, how much more can they fuck this country up?

-3 years later-

Jade watches as the house next to her gets blown up by gay hippies who love abortion..

Holy shit, what have I done? D:

i doubt hippies would be in favour of abortion Oo, but well, if things like that happened i doubt it is a direct consequence of the bad government you've got.

Presidents come and go, it's people who have to change.

What is Obama going to change btw? i've never heard him explain what he means by "change".

i suspect that kind of ambiguity is working in his favour.

besides, he wants the troops out of iraq, which he is definite on, and that's what people want to hear.

Anstice
04-13-2008, 07:16 PM
Yeah. See, at this point in time, being as it is my brothers 2nd time over there, I just want him out of there. I could careless about the rest of the shit thats going on right now.

I'll eat my words about Republicans if one could prove they can fix our country or my state, but I'm doubting it. I think we need a happy medium somewhere, but of course, those guys never make it past primaries.

I must admit, I don't take enough of an interest in my own country's politics, never mind America's. However, as the for the soldiers in Iraq, as far as I'm aware (not sure how it is in your country) these soldiers chose to join the army, and with that essentially chose to go to any war that their government got involved in. Forgetting whether they were right to go to war, whether they had the right reasons blah blah, ultimately, these soldiers chose to do this, didn't they?

I dont like the war (Iraq) and I dont like our guys dieing but it will take more than some slick talking and ambiguous plans to convince me to vote for Obama. I do like him and I'm leaning towards him but he hasnt fully convinced me yet. Hence, I am undecided.
