Well, I got the turntable and pleanty of vinyls to scratch with. There's only one problem...THE BEST VINYL I HAVE IS FROM THE BEEGEES  !!! Anyway, I see a few vinyls of LP here and there so I was wondering if LP actually made vinyls so I can tell if the vinyls really have LP songs on them. I don't want any singles. I'm looking for vinyls from Hybrid Theory and Meteora but I especially want Hybrid Theory cause of the samples on them.

- Reanimation (12'')
- Meteora (12'')
- Collision Course (12'')
- Minutes To Midnight (12'')

- One Step Closer (10'')
- Somewhere I Belong (7'')
- Faint (7'')
- Numb/Encore (12'')
- What I've Done (7'')
- Bleed It Out (7'')

But Hybrid Theory is the most difficult to find. Last auction on ebay reached 112$

i actually have that record.

i dj just as a hobby and i have quite a few LP records. i only have "Hybrid Theory" and "Reanimation" on vinyl tho, the rest are singles. try going to hiphop shops and places that sell vinyl, usually there are some singles or remixes of LP songs on some hiphop vinyl's. my personal fave vinyl tho is the single of the song "Morning After" by Chester Bennington vs Julien K.

There's a Morning After vinyl? Didn't know about that one, I knew there was a Z-Trip Walking Dead one though. What's on it? (pics would be cool if you have any)

Oklahoma don't know hip hop. they only know crappy country where Mark did Ground Xero. Lol. There are no Hip Hop shops in Central Oklahoma. Probably in Texas in which I'll get my chance once I move there. Do they actually sell Linkin Park vinyls? I thought the Meteora and Hybrid Theory vinyls were for promotional use. I would like to have the Walking Dead vinyl too. Do hip hop shops sell turntables and samplers, and mixers, and stuff? My turntable is well enough to scratch on but recently it hasn't been spinning so if we can't get it fixed I might have to get a new one. The one I have was bought sometime between 1985 - 1994. The store we bought it from isn't there anymore so we can't go back and repair it from the shop it came from. And also I need a mixer, and, if I have spare change, a sampler to. I need that cross fader to make it sound cool. If I do find a shop, what's better to use for scratching: a Hybrid Theory vinyl, or a Meteora vinyl?

well you could try Best Buy, sometimes they have some sort of tuntable for sale but im not very sure. some hip hop stores sell vinyl only but some do sell some turntables. your best bet would be to go to Guitar Center (guitar center sells dj stuff, they have quite a lot) or like a stereo place or somethin. well if your tuntable runs usin a belt drive then maybe you just need to replace the belt or maybe it just needed to be put back on the rotor. u can use any record for scratching but there is a record that is used just for scratching, its called "Vinyl Vengance", its basically a collection of special effects and its up to u to scratch and make your own sound out of it.

Well, I think mine runs on belt drive. Recently I found a little string like thing that leads into the turntable itself and it was cut in half. Where do I get an extra belt. I'm pretty sure it's belt drive, but I'm no completly sure. And where do I get the Vinyl Vengence thing you told me about? I have to order it right? How much does it cost?

And at the moment, on eBay you can find vinyls of Meteora/Reanimation/Collision Course/M2M, but not Hybrid Theory.

on some dutch sites, like marktplaats.nl, you have to bid but some people just give them for not much money

thats exactly the one that i use. there are a lot of samples there and special effects that most dj's use to scratch. most common one that they use is the sample of a voice that goes "...fresh..."
that'll get you going. now its up to you to manipulate the sound.

im not very sure where you can get an extra belt for your turntable. try looking online at turntablelab.com they might have some there. they have a pretty big selection of stuff there for dj equipments. i think you can only get that vinyl vengence online now, i havent seen any store that sells it anymore, i kinda inherited mine from my uncle's collection of vinyl.

didn't the LP guys said all the things in hahn's vinyls are done by them? except of course for some of the live samples used in joe's scratching.

Aphelion

Joe's vinyls are pressed before the albums even come out. Once they figure out what he's going to be responsible for live, they press all of his samples onto vinyls. I'm sure he uses his own vinyls for scratch samples, but anything that Joe just lets play in the background live (any type of beat/string parts/etc.) is on a seperate vinyl that's pressed while the band mixes the album. That's why Joe uses 2 decks, he uses one to let stuff play in the background while he scratches on the other. He doesn't actually use his sampler a whole lot, only when there's a sample that needs to be started/stopped several times (for example, the keys jingling in Given Up).

How come they don't have very many Hybrid Theory vinyl? Kinda stupid question, but most artists usually release some vinyls for a new album. My guess is that they weren't big enough to mass produce vinyls for there album.

They didn't have a need to mass-produce their first album on vinyl, since when HT first came out they were an unknown band for the most part.
