anyone here got it? you mean the scholarship? it's not like they give those like some kind of LPU prize... you've got to earn it i guess. and i have no idea how it works.
But that's one of the best things Mike has ever come up with. Education there in the US is extremely expensive.

lol yeh thanks ignacio but im not that dumb and i do know how scholarships work! just wanted to know if anyone got or"earned it" like you like to put it, but your saying education is expensive in th U.S? mm didn't know that, so im guessing it's some type of paid scholarship for a section owned by him at some art school in the U.S? mmmm

Linkin Park rapper and Art Center College of Design alumnus Mike Shinoda has established an endowed scholarship at the College, it was announced today by Scarlett Osterling, Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement. The scholarship will be generated by proceeds from the sale of a skate shoe designed by Mr. Shinoda and DC Shoes.
The collaboration between Mr. Shinoda and DC Shoes is the first alumni-corporate partnership made to endow an Art Center scholarship. DC Shoes, the skateboard shoe company, commissioned Mr. Shinoda to design and customize their product as part of their Remix Series line. Mr. Shinoda will donate 100% of his proceeds from the sale of the shoe to the scholarship, with DC Shoes matching his contribution dollar-for-dollar.
The Michael K. Shinoda Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to entering Graphic Design or Illustration students based primarily on need. As an endowed scholarship, Mr. Shinoda's gift will create educational opportunities for students in perpetuity.
In making the announcement Ms. Osterling said, "By creating this scholarship, Mike is helping the artists and designers of the future. As an alum, Mike knows the great lengths people go through to develop their skills and talent at Art Center and we're thrilled that he has chosen to help others find their creative voice."
"A college education has been invaluable to me in my life's pursuits," said Mr. Shinoda. "I'm familiar with the dedication and talent it takes to succeed at Art Center and how education has benefited my own career. I hope that this scholarship will afford others similar opportunities and I'm excited that DC Shoes wants to be a part of it."
Mr. Shinoda graduated in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in Illustration.
Mr. Shinoda is providing DC Shoes with his own hand-drawn artwork for their limited edition DC Clientele Remix Shoe. His artwork will be featured on the insole, hangtag and shoebox. The shoe will be available in late October 2004.
I remember reading comment/thanks of one of the students who gained this scholarship somewhere (on FM MySpace, maybe)

thanks for that NoFace...
and Reem, yeah... education in the US, if i'm not mistaken is the most expensive one in the world. I was actually told yesterday by my teacher that the career i'm doing here for 150 usd a month costs 16.000 usd a semester...
wow that's alot of money! it's sad really, most countries(don't wanna point out any) are busy with wars, which they spend millions of money on, when the country it self isnt exactly perfect, i mean look at how much they got to spend on education, way too sad, its not all that cheap here either.

education is "expensive". we happen to have free universities which are better than private ones in some aspects. and here private colleges are expensive but well... it's nowhere near 16.000 usd.
mmm yea i see what you mean, glad to know that universities aren't as expensive in where you live.

Spending money on education should be appreciated. The Americans do not just educate American kids, many scholarships are given out for international gifted students. LOL, you can't compare spending money on wars and education at all.
Joe once said in the Making of Meteora that art school is expensive, and Pasadena Art Center is one of the most expensive ones out there. Told ya, Linkin Park dudes were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, hahaha (save for Chester's poor ass)

Yeah you can compare them two, how can you not? i mean if it got that expensive then well instead of spending money to make weapons and shi*,they should spend it for their own country.

mmm I don't get what you said at all...
They spend money on education so what's wrong with it? And what it has to do with wars at all? Aren't it true that if people are educated better, they will be more aware of the bad sides of wars? And ain't it what you said? Instead of making weapons, they spend money on educating kids, and that does help the country, right? If you wanna critic the US, then it's not what I was talking about...
If you wanna talk about war, my granda lost his leg in our war, and I know WAY TOO MANY people die in our country's war. So yes, I know it when I talk about war, dear.

I changed that comment cos it was a little too into politics and we dont wanna get into that around here,it's not cool but im guessing you replied to my old comment but that's alright. Onto explaining what you didn't get, i didn't say spending money on education is wrong, i infact said the opposie! someone(no need to mention names)mentioned how expensive education in the U.S is,so i was just saying that certain countries waste thier money on wars, when its them countries that are aparently rated the most expensive when it comes to education, so what i was saying was that instead of spending all the money on wars, why not spend it on education? onto the war,im sorry about your grandpa, but i guess we are on the same boat and im not going to cry about it here,i'll save my shi* to myself as counting how many were lost isn't right for this topic.
you know it's better to say names when your "quoting" someone Reem. instead of "no need to mention names" if someone said something they're responsible for that.
edit: wha? deleted post?

lol yeah i snaped and post it so i cut it outta this page. Any way, dont get your point, your mad at me for not mentioning your name? I did quote what she said but the not mentioning of names wasnt bout her comment it was bout your previous one.

i'm not mad. im just saying that the "no need to mention names" thing is pointless, thats all.
cool, glad to know your not mad, i respect your point, but how is it pointless when it was said so it wouldnt affend anyone? what if you like said that and didn't want me going on about it?im guessing you don't mind i just assumed you did.

but reem, if someone posts something how could that person be offended if they are quoted? like i said before, if someone posts/says something, they are should be responsible for what they are saying.

yea tell me about.. when i go to grad school.. 16000 a semester.. 2 semesters a year.. for 4 years .. thats like 130,000 with out cost of books which are like 300 each.. so ill prob be forced to take out like 140,000-150,000 dollars in loans.. sucks
lol but ignacio, whoever was quoted was directly spoken to, the rest i said without mentioning names,i guess its who iam i dont like to mention people's names if their not around, cos i'd usualy end up affending them for pointing names out, you might have done the same if i mentioned your name, any way that wasnt the point any way, what difference would have made if i mentioned your name or not?if you really love your name all that much, then it shall be said in the next possible occasion, you just, stay cool.
