there is no spot of light in the whole album...*disappointed*

Well im sorry to inform you, but there is never going to be another album like Hybrid Theory, or Meteora. Hell, there next album probably wont even be like MTM.
LP has changed drastically since the early days, you can look at them and tell it. They've gotten older, and there sound has gotten more mature. So I hope you can be a true LP fan, and like LP for being themselves.

Well, why not just ignore them? I think there's nothing more pathetic than an mtm-lover flaming on someone who didn't like it. The "whiner" is just giving an opinion; that is why there are messageboards in first place, while an mtm-lover is just insulting and humiliating the "whiner" for his/her opinions. Were you in a coma in the few months before MtM's release? If you were, then why were you surprised they changed?
Just listen to it again. That's what I did. I've now come to really like it
But, (this is to the second guy who posted), as a true fan, I'm not saying "OMGEEZ YOU SHULD DIE LULZ". It's not perfect. I can admit to that. I do think their music is the best in the world, but there is room for improvement, like going back to Hybrid Theory (j/k, it would be good for me, but not good for the band)

HT and Meteora had a very unique sound to them. But MtM sounds like any other alt rock band. Most of the songs are too soft and others like Hands Held High have too much rapping in them. They just don't fit into the nu metal genre anymore.

Give "No roads left" a try, it is similar to their earlier work and is written so you can grasp your own meaning to it better as with Numb, In the End, Crawling... etc

ok first ever post dudes!!! firstly id like to say i dont claim to be the biggest LP fan ever (like all the kiddies on this site) but i have been a fan from the beggining and hybrid theory played a big part in how my musical taste developed. minutes to midnight was a bit of a shock when it first came out as im sure everyone will agree and i still prefer the earlier stuff but i have come to accept it and respect it for what it is. linkin park have changed no doubt (for the better?, thats for you to decide individually)but so has everything else in the last 5 years, compare minutes to midnight to todays music and not yesteryears and you will see its actually very good just the same as when you compared hybrid theory to the crap out in 2000

I dont agree that LP's are no longer as before. In fact i'm happy that LP can deliver us such different styles of music. Of course the previous style was great. But MTM is not bad either. Its true that in the coming years i'd like to see the previous style as well from LP along with new ones. Truely Versatile Band.

Thats why LINKIN PARK is better than the rest. How many bands singing in the same genre do you think can create a album like Minutes to Midnight. Hats off to the LPs.
