Jason Barnes was the original guitarist in Grey Daze and played on the Wake Me album, he was later replaced by Bobby Benish who played on No Sun Today (Bobby passed away from brain cancer several years ago).
Jonathan Krause was also the original bass player in Grey Daze, who was later replaced by Mace Byers. Chester and Sean Dowdell were the only 2 members who were with the band the entire time.
Also, this was the lineup of Sean Dowdell and His Friends (pre-Grey Daze):
Chester Bennington - Lead Vocals
Chris Goad - Guitar
Jason Cekoric - Bass
Sean Dowdell - Drums
Sean Dowdell and His Friends put out a 3-track demo tape and split up, then Sean decided to form a new band called Grey Daze. By sheer coincidence, Chester wound up auditioning to be the singer, not knowing ahead of time that the drummer was his former bandmate. Some people think Grey Daze was an evolution of Sean Dowdell and His Friends, but that's not true. They're two totally seperate bands that Sean and Chester just both happened to be in.

To answer your question his anme I beleive was Mike and he dies of Brain Cancer. I had the pleaseure of knowing him when he played with Grey Daze. A very talented guitarist that was installing garage doors to pay his bills during the day. So when you listen to the Grey Daze songs, thank god for letting him play for as long as he could. Mike is always in my prayers, See you soon old friend.
