I was listening to this song this morning, and for the first time, Chester's childhood came to mind. The fact that he wrote the lyrics makes sense too. Hope u all know what I'm talking about.....

I love this song!It's so simple yet so emotional...It's definitely one of my favourites.

When I found out what this song meant to Chester...I was like hell no!And then I realized that's why the song is about painful experiences that should be forgotten.I'm glad they decided to write this,tons of people can relate to awful past experiences.

I'm really proud of Chester for being able to acknowledge what happened to him, and right this song. I do wonder why he said that it took him a long time to be able to perform Breaking the Habit live, but he's never talked about Easier to Run, or has he? I know Mike wrote Breaking the Habit about Chester's situation, though.

In my opinion it is hard enough to sing a song about the bad things that happened in his childhood and so I understand why he is not talking that much about it.

i agree. Easier to run is so underrated. I think of it as one of Meteora's best songs.

I only ever listened to the song to listen to the bit where Mike comes in and then Chester joins into that as well.

Rest of the song is pretty cool.

it must be hard for him to do that at concerts and stuff cuz its super hard for me to talk bout things.. but thanx chester so much u have no idea how much it means to me to know someone truly understands how i feel sometimes when i feel really alone.

I wonder how long they worked on that song to make it just right.... Remember how Chester was saying that it took him a long time to be able to perform Breaking the Habit live? It had to have/must've been the same for Easier to Run.... It's equally as powerful, if not more so, than BtH.

Why does everyone think that Mike wrote BTH cause of Chaz ?

Mike and Brad worked at the song BEFORE Chester were in the band !!! If u have bought their albums, and you've got Meteora, then read about BTH inside it.
It says that it had gone "six years in the making" of it.
and we all know Meteora was released in 2003 ?
Chester joined in 1999.

So it's just coincidence, (i dont know how to write that one word), that BTH matched Chester's childhood.
But Easier To Run is a result of chester's free writing, and itts about his childhood so ur right about that

As u can hear, the drums are REALLY hard and pro in this song, but Rob found a way to do it easy and he worked it out in a few recordings!

ur right, they did start to wright the song way before chester joined, but that was just the music. Mike wrote the lyrics in like 2 hours when the music was ready...

Chester cried in the recordings and stuff, and if u watch RAR 04 you can see at Chester is sad :/

I like Easier To Run a lot. The lyrics of the song and chester's voice touches my soul. I can appreciat the true meaning of the song as i've faced many adversities in life.

Yes ITS EASIER TO RUN from life.:(

^I especially love the part that's in your sig. Hearing him scream those lines at high volume and sometimes singing along really helps relieve some pain.
