ok so, a while before the MTM special edition thing, for what i read, was supposedly having mp3s with early versions of the songs. Then when mtm was released and with the whole problem of the bonus material not working i never heard anyone talking if those tracks were real or not... so i just took them as rumors and moved on.

But now, i came across this thing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4hPE48PbL8&feature=related
what is he talking about?

That's nothing more than Artisan News Service being a bunch of fucking idiots and not knowing how to interpret what Mike says.

Mike: "And you see, actually, all those demos, you hear all the demos of me singing the songs before Chester sang the songs. So you can actually go in and check out, like, as we were writing a song...(etc.)"

He's just referring to the Making of Minutes to Midnight feature on the DVD. For example, there's a portion where you see him explaining how Leave Out All the Rest progressed, and it has a clip in the background of the original version with Mike's vocals. There's another spot where you see them trying Chester out on No Roads Left and deciding that Mike's original vocals were better. That's all it is, nowhere was it said or even implied that any full demos with Mike singing would ever be available whatsoever.

Mike is kind of waffling on and poor Phi is just sitting there. I saw the dvd and before they had written the words, they just had the melodies and would be like Lalala lala la to the music. The words and singing came later, the music first, I think that what he's on about.

i read in some music website, that the dvd contained mp3 tracks with Mike's versions of some songs. That'd make more sense that having the regular version of MTM in mp3 in the dvd as it turned out to be.

but alright then. It was made up rumor i guess after all.

The DVD was advertised as having the album in downloadable mp3 from the moment they announced it, so I dunno who was dumb enough to make that up.

I undertstood that almost all the demos were made with him singing and after passed to chester's voice
Also mike said that chaz is one of the best singers of our generation
Well I remember he saying that chaz would sing almost all the songs and he was happy to have written with chaz the lyrics and produced the album ....
It's just an article of how was produced MTM

I agree Mike was just saying that in beginning the demos were all about the melody after they increased chaz's voice

Actually, the only 2 songs that are confirmed to have had Mike singing the original versions that were eventually changed to Chester are Leave Out All the Rest and The Little Things Give You Away. In Between and No Roads Left were both tried with Chester, and they decided Mike's original vocals were better.
