Have you guys heard the album? thot it was kinda wasted that they didn't put in the live version of "Somewhere I Belong" (cos of the great live drum intro by rob)... you know since they wanted to do kind of a best of live versions thingy... and anybody knows what is the supposedly exclusive audio/video clips included in the package????

It's a waste cause there's no new song, even instrumental. Dicks!
Exclusive videos : you gotta sign in the LPU site, go to the media part and you will have a chance to download/watch silly videos of Mike Shinoda acting like monkey. Worth it, eh? LOL

Yes, I'm in the LPU. The exclusive audio are the LPU CD tracks I think, cause I've never seen any other exclusive audio. I joined since late LPU5 (sep 06) and the last audio I saw were some messages from Brad and Phi, nothing else. Now we just have exclusive video every now and then...
Now that's when you look at FMM (at their beginning, not now, cause FMM now is a dead town) and drool. A new song every month? Damn, not with the LPU.

Honestly, I think it's hard to say 'worth it' or not when you join the LPU or FMM. The LPU is sour grape sometime, especially these years, ppl complain about it a lot. (the LPU MB changed my join date to Oct 07, fuck!)
But I joined not because I heard the LPU was that good, but because I think I'm a hardcore fan, and hardcore fan should at least join the official fanclub once in your life, lol. If you don't have money, I understand, cause I always have to struggle to gather enough money for all the LP stuffs, but if you consider yourself that hardcore, then you should be an LPUer(even for just one year).
Oh well, but then, it can be silly. Cause many members on the LPMB thinks it's uneccessary to be in the LPU and you still can be a good fan. It's true tho. It's just my two cents anyway. I have many LP friends out there that are not in the LPU and I still hold much of my respect to them!

They've been advertising "exclusive audio/video clips" as part of the website since LPU started, but the last ACTUAL exclusive audio the LPU website got was a clip of Somewhere I Belong before it was released to the public in 2003. There have been no exclusive audio clips whatsoever on the LPU website since LPU 2.0.

hehe... i consider myself a hardcore LP fan (whatever that means)... but i think joining the LPU is everything but necessary. These days, buying a band's album is enough support.
I just see the LPU as a "legal" way of getting ripped off. In every LPU pack, the only thing i care about is the songs... but still, it's not easy for me to buy stuff through internet. So i just download it. I'd buy it if they sold it at normal record stores as EPs... but no. LP wants the money... and so does warner, they want to squeeze every dollar they can out of everything they do... and it's fine with me, but i won't be part of their game. They could perfectly put some code in the albums for people who buy the album download bsides or exclusive tracks... for free, is that too much to ask?... look at SOB, they themselves give instrumentals, full songs and other stuff to SOBCentral, for example, without expecting any money in return. I wish LP had the same gesture to fans, but no.
No offense, and although i understand you say that it's not THAT necessary for a fan to be in LPU, the way you put it like "every fan should be an LPU (even for just one year)" is just like the MTM "SUPER FAN EDITION"... makes me feel the same way... i guess that by not buying the "super fan edition", to the eyes of Warner and LP, i'm not a true fan? fuck that.

And about that... well, then the LPU7 really sucks ass. Totally worthless.

LPU is 100% worthless .Everybody knows that , right ? You gain shit by joining that , BUT I consider it as a support to the band , nothing else . Cuz about the songs , they will soon come out in the net and can be downloaded .Be sure of that. And BTW joining LPU and wasting your money doesn't mean that you are a real fan.
Though I will join in january, just to see. I've never been a LPU member before.

to bad there were no new songs, but it's not like you come up
with a good enough song to put on a CD every day I guess
(although I was surprised and disappointed that there wasn't even an instrumental by Mr. Haun).

You have a point here tho. No no, I don't say that 'every fan should join LPU'. It depends on your opinion. It's just my humble opinion stating that being a hardcore fan, maybe you should join at least 1 year to at least know what it is like.
I hear everyone complaining about Warner and LP milking us. Well, I complained too, but finally, all those guys complaining I know still upgrade their LPU account. You see? Joining LPU of course will bring you more benefits, even thou it still sucks ass.
And once again I say, you can't compare Linkin Park with SOB or Julien-K. Look at Fort Minor, and you will see the difference. Still the same Mike, but in an underground-star band, he gave out more free stuff. Those guys are underground stars, while LP is the biggest selling act of Warner Bros. I don't know if we can ask them to become another Radiohead or NIN, that's what we gotta wait for.

Hello! I have like 3 hours tried to fill the order form for joining LPU, but it always says I have a problem with my credit card. I have just no idea witch phone nr am I asked there (there is none on my credit card). I even went to bank to ask that but I got no answer. Normally only a card nr is asked. All the numbers I have tried were invalid.
So, would smb be so nice and help me with my problem. Once it said that my Zip code was also false, but it wasn't wrong, I just live in Estonia and mb computer doesn't accept my numeric data:S
If smth was unclear then I'll try to give more accurate information. I just want to have LPU 7 Pass, not to bother everybody with my poor English...
