well, u've proven to know pretty much everything there is about LP... and i have a question that no one has answered in a satisfactory way.. or at least the answer, it just doesnt make sense.

Please, could you tell me which are the differences between the 3 different versions of POA demos and By Myself demos out there? I started reorganizing my LP folders and sites say one thing, people say another and the way i tagged the songs say yet another thing.

And also, please include what's the source for each one of those demos.

There are only 2 Points of Authority demos that I know of...the version with the "Forfeit the game/stop the talk show" lyrics is actually an alternate take from the final Hybrid Theory recording sessions (you can tell by the sound quality), I have no idea where it originated from CD-wise though. The other version is the demo that appeared on the 9-track Hybrid Theory demo CD (the one that doesn't have the "It's time to sink or swim" bridge in it).

However, there are 3 By Myself demos, and 4 A Place for My Head demos:

By Myself:
#1 = "Super Zero" from the 9-track demo CD. It has Mike whispering "So, what do you
think?" at the beginning, and during the bridge there is a drum beat going in the
background. The lyrics in this one are significantly different than the other 2 versions.

#2 = "By Myself" from the 2-track demo CD. This one doesn't have the whisper at the
beginning or the beat in the bridge that the 9-track version has. Also, on the first
words of the song, "What do I do," Mike comes in right on the beat, and during the bridge
he says "I'm so afraid."

#3 = "Super Xero" from the old hybridtheory.com website. This version is almost the same
as the 2-track version, except Mike comes in off the beat on the first line of the song,
and during the bridge he says "Always afraid" instead of "I'm so afraid."



A Place for My Head:
#1 = "Esaul" from the 9-track demo CD. This version has the lyrics "So I run from that
to a place I can't find you at" in the first verse.

#2 = "A Place for My Head (Esaul)" from the 2-track demo CD. This version has the lyrics
"But an on-front attack, you could never run from that" in the first verse, different
from the 9-track version. This version has the "And the second it starts" lyric at the
start of the 2nd verse that the website version doesn't have.

#3 = "Esaul" from the old hybridtheory.com website. This version is similar to the
2-track version, except that at the start of the second verse, there's just the guitar
playing with no vocals for a second, without the "And the second it starts" lyric.

#4 = "Esaul," the live version in Mike's bedroom that is an easter egg on Frat Party.
This one is easy to tell from all the others, the lyrics and sound quality are substantially different.

I remember I asked the same question on LPA forums and received the same answer... :)
And I'm glad that I found all the versions of the above songs. And thanks tasta for telling me about the differences between them.

I remember I saw tasta somewhere.. but I just checked and both on LPA and LPU he's Astat.. So dunno about that. Whatever.

That was a post I made less than 2 months ago on my Aphelion account.

My Astat account was banned because some asshole moderator (who I really hope isn't still on staff here) actually had the nerve to ban a friend of mine for making a happy anniversary thread for Chester and Sam, and I went off on them for it.
