What do you think about collision course? I don't like that cd very much... I think Jay-Z with his songs killed a part of Linkin Park's ones... Expecially Numb/Encore... I'm very angry, because,in Italy, there aren't many people who understands the words of Linkin Park's songs... I've got a lot of friends who prefer the mix Numb/Encore to Numb... and you? What's your opinion? Do you prefer the mixes to the originals songs?
I liked it. I thought it was a cool little EP/project. I thought it would have been cooler to cut some original tracks with Jay, but I think they only teamed up for like a day or two int the studio, and then once more for the show. Still, at least one original song would have been cool.

I liked the idea of the cd at first, I loved it, but as I listened to it I grew to dislike it more and more, alas now I rarely ever listen to it.

For something that was recorded in 2 days, I think it's pretty cool.

collision course is really well put together. i think it was a big risk to do it, and it paid off.

OMG IT'S THONY. and i just noticed i was more of a LPMB veteran than you!
i really like CC. Of course, songs don't necessarly go together (for the lyrics i mean) but the way they were matched, it was very good. i especially like Pts of autority/99 problems. mike as a cop, hmmm...

I bought it the day it came out actually.
But I dont have it on my computer or anything , and I dont mention it if someone ask me if I can mention every song by LP , included the demos and stuff.
When I first heard it , I listened to the Dont Stay/99Problems, i think.. It was an awesome intro, the original!, but then Jay-Z's stupid voice came and fucked it all up.
I HATE Collison Course.
Jay-Z fucked it all up.
I try to listen to it and pretend Jay-Z isn't in, but it isn't easy.

Right after I answered the thread , I went upstairs to get it, and I ripped into my computer.
It's funny, cause I kinda liked it.. And then I watched the DVD and stuff , and it was kinda cool..
It has some cool beats too.
but whatever, it's just a mashup.
dont make a big deal out of it wookie.

collision course... yes and no... yes, because it's linkin park but no because of jay-z... honestly, i don't like his voice... all he does is say "uh-uh" when chester gets to sing... i hate it... but well,... i dunno... the album as a whole is still really good, though...

Do you prefer the mixes to the originals songs?i don't think that's a kind of relevant question - whether i'd prefer "numb/encore" to "numb" ... ha. :)
i felt some of the "collision course" mash-up's were incredibly one-sided - "big pimpin'/papercut" and "izzo/in the end", in particular. maybe they couldn't have done it any other way but those are the two low points for me.
on the other hand, "dirt off your shoulder/lying from you" and "points of authority/99 problems/one step closer" were superbly produced, best mash-up's you'll ever hear.
there is a little improvement, mix-wise -- "lying from you" has better/clearer drum parts thanks to mike's production skillz.
all in all, though, "collision course" and the songs which were used for its mash-up's remain quite separate to me.
I Liked iT!!!! Cuz it was so unusual=) fcrs I don't say that it's the best cuz like it's not realy LP style, but I still think that Numb/Encore is cool!!! as I always say that in this album Mike just did what he wanted and that is above all! Guess he was happy so that music that Mikey did with the band was shining with that feelings that guys and aspecially Mike felt=) I Like Collision course! :p

It was really well done and the songs were mashed very good, what I don't like are Jay-Z's lyrics which suck...

Those collaborations worked really well together and I wouldn't mind seeing another collaboration with another band/rapper or Linkin Park and another artist

I loved the colabo. Seeing im a huge Jay and LP fan it was amazing to see them come together. Although some of the songs lyrically just didnt work like numb/encore. others like 99problems/point of authory worked wonderfully.

it wasn't about making the lyrics work, mash-up's was all about the sound and blending genre's and stuff. that said, a lot of of LP's songs feature hip hop elements.
but what i really like about LP is they're always above the standard. like, from the very beginning, with "hybrid theory", they've always done more than people expect of them. when remix albums were at their worst, LP came out with a full-on reinterpretation of "hybrid theory" that pretty much re-defined remixing. at the VMA's last year, they could've done what everyone else did. but they just played "bleed it out", the full song, full stop. and that was easily the best performance of the night.
with MTV's "ultimate mash-up's" ... MTV was just expecting a couple of mash-up's pulled off live. but LP went and recorded six, released them with a making-of/live DVD and made music history in the process. :) how's that?
