View Full Version : Meteora Underrated?
Meteora seems to not get a lot love from critics compared to Hybrid Theory. It was mostly rated as a 3/5 and sputnikmusic definitely don't love the album compared to Hybrid Theory. I think this album should atleast deserve a 4/5 because they actually used a lot of elements on this album and the sound was way different compared to Hybrid Theory but it's still enjoyable. The rest of the songs are EASILY superb: "Don't Stay", "Lying From You", "Faint". People complains cause it's repetitive or boring. I really don't get it how it's repetitive; each song they put is very different compared to every song and every song isn't that boring.

I totally agree...........................Actually Meteora Deserves a 5/5 coz it is a brilliant album................Songs like Faint,Numb,Breaking the habit,Somewhere I Belong,From the Inside,Lying from you are totally awesome................These songs also have a very deep meaning in them and those who dont understand it are lamers! These critics are hypocrits.

fuck them critics. Meteora is totally worth buying and listening! and it's also NOT repetitive! what makes them think the songs are almost the same? every song has its own distinctive elements, and its pretty good to hear it OVER AND OVER AGAIN I TELL YA. yeah..

yeah I agree it is underated alot... I would give it a 5/5 in one of there songs "Nobody's Listening" they used a japanese flute o.O which I thought was very creative and I love oriental music... I give credit to anything that's creative and this band has a ton of creativity and MTM definetly shows how creative they can be =)

meteora kicked ass.
you'll always get the albums that get shit on, simply because the critic is biased on what type of music they like -_- they should talk about the ART of the album, and not the 'likeableness' of the album.
no one can deny that MTM is a work of art.
so is the 36? page extra on the CD/DVD of MTM... only one that sucks is the one on the page of WID ha
/waffle
but seriously
meteora... wow
any album that has my favorite song of all time on it must kick some serious butt :)

I can't decide if I like that one or not.
It's a very... powerful painting.
Every time I turn to that page I can't stop looking at it, it's... kinda weird and true(?!) at the same time.
And hard to explain XD

er... nixy was a president of america sometime ago. Not sure of anything else, I only know him throught the Futurama cartoons. XD
Meteora got a lot of shit when it first came out, the same way Minutes to Midnight gets now. I liked it, wasn't a bad record by any means, but it was over-produced. A lot more electronic sounding than Hybrid Theory, which many early, mostly metal-head Linkin Park fans didn't care for. I myself was a fan since One Step Closer dropped all those years ago, and I saw their point, but it didn't stop me from liking the album. Minutes To Midnight is like coming full cycle again, old fans throw a shitfit, newer ones show up and think "OMG LP is teh best band evar!", and I just sit here. Personally, I think Minutes is closer to Hybrid Theory than Meteora was.
P.S.-I don't think Hybrid Theory actually was well-reviewed. Everything positive I saw was written years after it was released.

new albums always get critisized, they dont become "good" in anyone's eyes until they become part of an artist's back-catalogue.
meteora to me seemed alot more like HT than MTM did tho..
Meteora was still Nu-Metal though. That's why a lot of Linkin Park fan dig this with Hybrid Theory. The electronica sound really fit great because it didn't sound like another Hybrid Theory. If they do, I hope they use their Nu-Metal sound for like two bonus songs.

Meteora is the best LP album I think...better and more mature than HT... not that soft and unergetic as MTM (Though I like it)...5/5 for METEORA...I think it better than HT...better lyrics than HT ones....though every album for me as a fan is rated 5/5...METEORA DESERVED A LOT MORE.
THERE'S NO F***** REPEATIVITY as some say.
