That was a bad idea to do it in a stadium. Or they had to that in a stadium with only LP fans. There were not emotions at all. and the public in a concert is the most important thing. A band can give their 200%, if the people there dont follow up, the concert will suck. I saw way more interesting live shows from them.

That's true. When you see the people in the stadium just a few of have really emotions and many look bored.
But the perfomance of LP and the songs are sooooooooo good, that I forget theses things and so I think it's a very, very good and must have CD and DVD!

I watch how the
Moon sits in the sky / in the dark night
Shining with the light from the sun
The sun doesn't give / light to the moon assuming
The moon’s going to owe it one
It makes me think of how you act to me / You do
Favors and then rapidly / You just
Turn around and start asking me / about
Things that you want back from me
I’m sick of the tension / sick of the hunger
chester: sick sick sick sick sick
I love this!
A place for my head is the best song on Live in Texas

Well, I really liked the show but the DVD IMO isn't very well directed. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like when , for example, Brad has 2 different guitars in one song. I like shows like Rock am Ring 2004 more. They sound more live, you know, with the crowd singing and screaming and so on...

Live in Texas is awesome, I love the mosh pits :P I just wish I could've been there, though.
But, yeah, it's cool that they recorded the whole thing.
It's my personal goal to go to an LP concert if it kills me.

I have to admit that I haven't been as happy for a present ever than when I found out that my best mate had bought it to me, the other LP albums and items I'm in position of I've bought myself, and I love to sit and watch that DVD atleast 1 time each week, and I've done that since it came out... oh man it's like a tradition :p

I went to Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and I stumbled upon a copy of this CD/DVD, and without thinking, I decided to purchase it. I must admit, at first, it felt awkward listening to Linkin Park live, seeing as I always listen to their studio albums. But Live in Texas eventually grew on me. Now, I find myself listening to it at least once a week. It makes me feel as if I'm in a live concert. (:
Oh, and by the way, I was wondering if Live in Texas is rare. O:

It's really common, although it's a bit harder to find now that it's been out for 4 years.
I like Live in Texas as a whole, my 2 biggest gripes are the poor video editing that has been discussed (Brad's guitar changing mid-song, etc.), and the fact that the crowd is way too low in the mix except for between songs. It kinda ruins the whole "live" feeling.

I think it was there better performance if not greatest. Also I
think that's when chester looked his best, but after that it
went downhill in the 2004 Rock am Ring.
NoFace
01-12-2008, 10:03 PM
His look went downhill or his performance? Personally, RaR04 is one of the best live performance I know. Live In Texas, in other hand, has been editted to death, that's why you got such a great live performance.

WookieBastard

do the looks make you sound better?
...ehh... anyway, i think they never looked better than they do now. They used to look stupid.
MarathonMan
01-13-2008, 11:47 AM
When you say stupid, what do you meen? Like OSC stupid or
Papercut stupid? I don't like how Chester keeps shaving his
head, but Mike's looking better now. All he needs to do is to
shave off the facial hair and leave the beard he had during OSC.

"live in texas", IMO, surpasses any LP live-footage release in its quality. sure, the performances became bigger and better by "minutes to midnight" but the live tracks/videos they give us now don't stand up to LIT when it comes to quality. look at LPU 7.0 for example.

It was merged from two shows, Houston and Irving. If you listen to liveshow bootlegs often, you will realize that the quality can't be that good without being edited. Stuff like that.

Yeah I know. I realised too..But I thought u had any dunno kinda more "official" info.Yeah that is edited...but hmm it was a DVD so.Tho I hate when they edit bootlegs (I think they kinda edit even the bootlegs). That's why I love live videos.Their voice there is just as it is live...

I'll grab my Live in Texas booklet in a min..
Hm... Mixed at Pulse Recording, LA... nope, nothing official.
Kidding, haha, do you expect to see something official like 'Live in Texas is heavily editted, so don't believe that the quality of a liveshow is that good'. LOL, no, it's just my guess after listening to it.

i was a little disappointed to realise "live in texas" wasn't all it appeared, but i admit it's one of a kind in that respect and it's another example of LP pushing the envelope. :oBecause they edited it like, holy crap crazy *nods and points at post above*just saying, the more recent official live recordings are just not as loud as "live in texas". the new stuff is heavier, yes -- but, volume-wise, you gotta turn it up louder.
the mix on "live in texas" is basically better than any other live mix LP have ever released. or any recording of LP performing live, full stop.

Mmm.. I'm not talking about the mix-wise or the volume-wise here. I just wanna point out the Lives in Texas was heavily edited, so you can hardly hear any mistake from the band. The sound was pretty perfect, while indeed, when you listen to a normal live bootleg, there're many sour grapes. Chester hits the wrong note or his screams are not that long and strong, Brad goes wrong on the guitar, stuff like that.
However, I will not put LIT on the top of my LP live list. No way, lol.
