Right now, Meteora has a positive rating on Metacritic, but for the past 3 years, until MTM came out, it had a 56. But once MTM came out, Meteoras score went up? I'm just wondering what happened, and if anyone else caught that.

i don't understand how did the ratings changed really. Perhaps because now people listens MTM and they understand how good Meteora was?

The comments, quotes actually, from magazines are not that positive about the album. LP must have read them and perhaps thats why they changed style?... (im just kidding)

I just wish they'd stop hating on M2M already. >_<

people that hate it do not hate it because it's shit... we don't like it because its mediocre, but that's going offtopic.

Thats the thing, it's like, once Meteora came out, everyone was trashing it, but now that a new CD's out, people are acting like Meteora was awesome the entire time and all of a sudden they just pussed out.

Meteora got mediocre reviews for not being different enough, MTM got lame reviews for being too different. It's just like, what the fuck.

lol, im not trying to start a fight here, ok? so don't get the wrong idea.

But... if they hadn't changed their music, they would have ended up more hated than they are now.. their music was copied by a lot of other bands, which made their OLD music mediocre.

I don't think their new music is mediocre, but that's just my opinion.

and Rob, I sort of agree with what you're trying to get at.

Damned if they did, damned if they didn't. I enjoy the hell out of the new style, and everything that doesn't work on MTM will get fixed in the next album. yeah, it's lame that some people will have to wait longer for what should have come out, in all fairness, two years ago. But shit happens.

Hopefully they'll release a new album mid 09 or something. No doubt they'll do something unexpected and unexplainable to shock the fans into continuing to loving them.

(im starting to sound like english isn't my first language, great)

Hmmm...I don't think I heard any band that has the similar sound as LP, they wanted to be labeled as "hybrid" too since they say they never wanted to be labeled Nu-Metal.

Simple, they miss the old LP.

Personally, in my deepest opinion, I feel they're hipocrits, Mike especially.

I mean Mike for one said they don't care what people think of LP, in other times he said he doesn't want people to establish a genre on LP. But as soon as people sterotype LP they listen and change.

It's not against their music, it's great, it's just it seems they're letting people get to them.

hey i was just giving an opinion, wasn't tryin to start a fight either, sorry if u got that idea.

I agree with u, if they didnt change their style... i'd hate'em for that, and their carreer would be coming to it's end if they didn't. But, again, as i say everywhere... i was expecting more from MTM...

About that "mediocrity" thing. If you create something, no matter how many people try to imitate u, that won't make u a mediocre in whatever ur doing, it makes those who want to imitate u mediocre. And MTM is mediocre because there's nothing new on it, sure, it has some new stuff to LP, but not to music in general. But still MTM has some good stuff in it.

U know, it may sound stupid, but when i heard about them changing style i was hoping they'd get a bit into post-rock. Not post-rock itself, but taking elements from it that would complement the music they created for Meteora... i think that'd have been more interesting than the pop sound they have now.

Yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you said. I think that they tried to do a lot of different sounds, but were kind of afraid of going all the way with it, so they kind of built around and added on to the Numb/In The End/Faint type of stuff they know.

Hmm yeah, you definately have an opinion worth listening to. I guess it's just each to their own, really. :)

Because it's irritating, and I guess they couldn't take it.
