I just wanted to know how people feel about HTEP song Step Up.
'Cause i really think it's a cool song. I'd rate it a 9/10.

I love it, it kinds of belong to a type of rap called in spanish something like Rap Competitivo or something like that. Bands write songs to challenge other bands, questionning the rival band's skills as emcees, etc etc... Don't know if that thing exists there in america, at least i never listened to an american rap band / rapper doing a song like that.

Here in south america instead of having the gangsta stuff, shooting each other, they just leave that "violence" for their lyrics.

Step Up, although i doubt it's dedicated to a particular band, it may belong to that thing of "Rap Competencia"

I like Step Up 8.5/10. Best song of Hybrid Theory EP in my opinion. When they performed it at rock am ring 2004 it was good.

Bit of useless trivia: Step Up is the only song Brad has ever used a wah-wah on. There's some pretty interesting guitar stuff on this song and the whole HTEP in general. I dunno why he toned down a little bit for Hybrid Theory and Meteora, some of Brad's best riffs were in songs like Part of Me, Reading My Eyes, and And One.

imma have to revive tis thread by stating that, A) this is one of my favorite songs and
B) i saw a clip of them playing it in 04 (rock am ring i think)and mike said, "most of you wont know this song, if you do, you probably downloaded it from the internet" which is funny because *I* know the song from the In the End single.......

seeing so im the one who revived this thread, i think i can answer that:
because, just because we (us newbies) werent around when this was first posted, doesnt mean we dont wanna discuss it. other people would bitxh if we (or I) would have sterted a new thread about the same thing. i went digging for a thread about it so i could state how much i love the song.
plus, its a good song, why shouldnt we continue to talk about it ?

Well i think it's good song but not one of my favorites!!!I love all LP songs i didn't hate any of their songs and i think that Step Up is a good song too;)
