Hello, darlings .
Almost every day, here at LPMB we get a thread asking the same question we’ve heard before. New people who join these boards don't know as much about the band as you do, which is why I think we need this thread. I understand that it does get a bit aggravating having to answer the same question over and over again and sometimes because of this new members don’t get a very welcome reception, which isn’t really fair.
I’ve compiled all the typical questions I can think of. Hopefully, this will cut down the number of threads we get, and make this forum a more interesting place to be with different topics for you to participate in.
If there’s anything you think I’ve missed, any information I’ve got wrong, any comments/questions about this thread then please post and tell me how to improve it.
Thanks for your time .
NEW USERS - TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF, CLICK HERE! (http://forums.linkinpark.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4) You can meet other people, get help from curent members and ask any questions you have about the boards
When is the new album coming out?
Minutes to Midnight release dates can be found in the Minutes to Midnight forum. You can find all information about the new album in that forum.
LP Underground
The LPUnderground can be found here (http://www.lpunderground.com/). All the basic information can be found on the LPUnderground website. If you have any questions concerning the LPU, please refer to this (http://forums.linkinpark.com/showthread.php?t=234) thread.
LP Street Team
The LP Street Team was originally a small group of fans that went around promoting Linkin Park’s music before they got signed. After the band got signed, the fans carried on promoting the band and this still goes on today.
To join the Street Team, you have to be referred by another Street Team member. Please do not post refferral links in thread topics. This will result in a ban. You are more than welcome to post links in your signature.
Hybrid Theory EP (HTEP)
This is the CD that Linkin Park sent out to record companies when they were looking to get signed. This isn’t avalible to buy in shops. It was given out to LPU members in year 1. If you’re lucky, you may find it floating around, possibly on ebay.
I have a comment about how hot Phoenix is!
If you want to talk about a particular band member, go to their official thread. Any new threads made about a particular band member (e.g - "I think Phoenix is so hott!") will be closed. Please go to the band member's official thread where's you'll find lots of other people to talk about [x] with . The names of the threads are as follows -
Mikes Official Thread
The Official Chester Thread
The Official Phoenix Thread
Brad's Official Thread
This One's for Rob!
Mr. Hahn's Official Thread
These threads can be found in the Linkin Park forum.
Band member’s emails and screen names.
No one here knows the band member’s email addresses. The band don’t give out their email addresses to fans. If you think you’ve found it, you haven’t.
The same thing applies to impersonators. There will always be people who try to impersonate band members. Away form this site, there is nothing we can do apart from warn you that 99.99999999% of the time, it is NOT one of the guys. If you see it happen here, report the post or PM a moderator. We can confirm that the person you're talking to is/isn't one of them. The band members have accounts on the forums and you will be able to recognise them from their titles. For example, where mine says "superhero", a member of the band will have something like "Linkin Park Vocalist".
Band members screen names are as follows.
Mike = mshinoda.
Your best way of contacting them is by posting a thread in the Linkin Park forum, and hoping one of the band members sees it.
Where can I find x song or video?
Many fan sites (which can be found in the LP Webmasters forum or using a search engine such as Google) host audio and video files you can download. If you have searched and still can’t find it, someone here might be able to help you find what you’re looking for. The chances of finding audio/video files from a show you went to (unless it was a festival) are very slim.
What are the Frat Party At The Pancake Festival DVD codes?
1. To hear the One Step Closer Remix by the Humble Brothers: Go to the normal One Step Closer video on
the DVD, when Chester says his last "SHUT UP", hit enter, and it will go to the audio of the Remix version.
This is remix only, but is still very cool.
2. To watch another version of a Point Of Authority video: Go to "Disk Setup" on the main menu. Don't press
anything, just sit and wait for a little while. Another screen will popup shortly that will show numbers and say
"LINKIN PARK" accross the top. You will need to enter these numbers, hitting "PLAY" on your remote or DVD
player after each number: 1,4,8,5,9,5,2. There is no time limit on typing these in, so take your time.
3. This is to see some old school Linkin Park performance of "Esaul": Go to the "Disk Setup" and turn "ON"
the subtitles for both Subtitle things. Now go back to the main menu then go to "Chapter Selection", then go
to the section titled "Beginnings", and about 4-5 minutes into it you see Brad talking and he says "from the
beginning", press "ENTER" right when you see that and it will take you to the recording. If it isn't working, just
rewind back about 5 seconds and when joe is about to stop talking, start hitting "ENTER" like a crazy mofo.
4. To see 12 minutes of extra footage: Go to "program" on your DVD player and enter in Title 1 Track 3. (That
way has never worked for me, but the way I did it was I just played the DVD like normal, just play the whole
thing, and anywhere in it just hit stop, and then hit display, then 3, then enter. That's how it worked for me,
another way people are talking about is to go to the credits, and hit the back button to go back a chapter, and
it'll take you to this section).
5. Have you ever heard "One Step Closer" backwards? If you want to, go to edit setup and click "YES" to
turn on the directors commentary and then watch "One Step Closer".
6. To see hidden footage that was shot in London, go to the main menu and select 'Special Features.' Then
select 'Main Menu' from that screen. A "FAKE" main menu will appear. The way you know that it is fake is
the "N" in Linkin is facing the correct way, rather than backwards. Now, without selecting anything, key into
your remote: "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right" and the DVD will play the "Backstage clean"
hidden footage.
Playstation codes are as follows
To hear One Step CLoser backwards - go to setup --> move your analog stick to director commentary and press x. then play one step closer.
For the osc remix - Play One Step Closer. When it gets to the eighth "shut up", press x. This will get you to the remix.
For "backstage clean" - Move your analog stick to special features. Press x. Move down to main. Press x. You'll get the same "fake screen" that you get with the other regular cheat. Now, move your analog up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right. You have to do this very fast and very accurately because the PS2 is very sensitive to wrong moves. If you don't get it the first time, try it again.
To hear Esaul - watch the DVD up to the part where Brad says "from the beginning"...press x.
If your question hasn’t been answered here, please use the search function.
Also, I'd like to say a big thank you to those who have contributed to this FAQ. You know who you are. =)
