it is the return, again, of the "i'm obsessed with LP" thread. for the 12 or 13th version, i don't really remember cause it's been too long since i last did the thread. you can post new stuff you do or just lurk around and laugh/cry. the thread was up so long and it was so funny that even mike posted in it! so enjoy the list!

LP finds its way onto your nailpolish.
Your room becomes Hybrid Town Center
You get a piece of cardboard, write 'LINKIN' on it, travel to your local park, and stick the cardboard over the actual name of the park. Now it reads 'LINKIN PARK'.
You can't sleep without hearing LP on the stereo
You can't sleep without saying Goodnight to all your posters, and the guys, and the Hybrid Theory Soldier guy.
You see copies of the band members everywhere(ex: "I swear Mike was driving his purple car down my street yesterday!")
Someone is walking down the street wearing a checkered shirt or pants and you immediately think 'hey! That's Chester!' and when they get closer to you and you realise it's a woman, you say to yourself, 'Chester! In a woman suit.' And get all
depressed coz it's not Chester then cheer up and start laughing at the thought of Chester with boobies.

LP comes into every possible conversation.
You've made your parents make Chicken Fricassee.
You collect things that relate to LP in the slightest way
Your cat is now called Hybrid Theory Cat!
If you have a dog, or when you get a dog, you name it Bessie after Mike's little mutt.
Your pictures file exceeds 550 pics (about 10 megabytes).
When you get ur LPU stuff, you take all the things out and marvel at them then when you get to your Tshirt, you sniff it and say 'This smells like Mike Shinoda'.
You say something like' And I,' and you HAVE to say 'Just wish that I didn't feel like there was something I missed' after it
You raided the phone book looking for Shinoda's, Bennington's, Delson's, Hahn's, Farrel's and Bourdon's and freak out if you find one with the exact same initials as a band member.
You walk into the classroom at school and everyone shuts up and starts watching you to see if you'll say anything about LP. When you don't, they ask questions like 'What's up? Did LP not win anything last night?' or something.
When you go into the classroom all depressed, people ask you if LP died or something.
You refuse to call your pillow 'Pillow' as it is now known as 'A Place for your head'.
People are amazed cause you know exactly what LP is doing right now.

People have started calling you a band member's named cause you're too obsessed... and you answer to that nickname
Instead of your bf/gf/kids' pic in your wallet, you carry around LP.
You call your diary after one of the guys. (101 'Dear Mike... ')
You have LP doodles all over your notebook and when there comes a time to actually write notes you can't find room.

You have a binder dedicated soley to Linkin Park with nothing but their printouts of pictures and articles and anything else pertaining to Linkin Park.
Everytime you hear someone say Numb the song begins playing in your head.
When someone says I almosted fainted and you automatically get the song stuck in your head.
Everytime you hear Mike, Chester, Joe, Phoenix, Rob or Brad you start smiling.
You take pictures of LP and yourself so you can alter the picture on adobe photoshop making it seem you met them.
you name every thing you see in sight linkin, linkin #2, linkin#3,ect.
when a store in a mall has lp playing in the background, you jump on you friends shoulders and start singing and dancing.
you've written over 5 lp reports for school.

You name your friends after members of LP and they get pissed when you call them by their 'LP name'.

Celebrate each of the guys birthdays (and make cup cakes with Joe's face on for his, then shared them around with your friends)

Any word slightly related to a song (e.g. Paranoyed -> Papercut) he song gets in your head.

You're doing school work with an LP song in your head and you accidently write one of the guys names or the name of a song.

See on the Green Day fan site I go on, there is a disorder called Obsessive Complusive Green Day Disorder(O.C.G.D.D.). I used to have it and I guess I still do. I'm not sure how to say this. But say you are driving and an LP song comes on the radio, and you can remember the exact song and the exact place you were when you heard the song. And when you drive passed the place where you heard the song, you can say, "Oh, I heard (insert LP song) here."

haha i used to be fully obsessed in highschool. not as obsessed as the list tho but i eventually discovered my love for hiphop and other rock bands so i got over it. And you know what thats kinda funny cause i dont remember talking about LP with my friends i made in montreal but (how i dont know) they know everything about me and linkin park.

Sometimes i wonder that even if we are less into it or think we are not fans like we used to be, we still have LP tattooed somewhere for life that others can se without you really noticing it... really thats kind of weird.

C'est un band de Los Angeles, Californie qui s'est créé en 1996 sous le nom de Xero, composé de 5 des membres maintenant présents dans le groupe (mike shinoda, le rappeur; brad delson, le guitariste; dave "pheonix" farrel, le bassiste et rob bourdon, le drummer). Ils ont fait plusieurs démos avec leur chanteur, Mark Wirlfield(si je ne m'abuse) mais celui-ci quitta le groupe vers 1998. Ensuite, Chester Bennington(le chanteur du groupe) les rejoingna pour former Hybrid Theory(nom du groupe à l'époque) et créer d'autres démos ainsi qu'un EP qui apparut en 1999.

Ils furent signés par Warner Brothers peu de temps après et ils produirent leur premier album: Hybrid Theory, en 2000, qu'ils signirèrent sous le nom de Linkin Park(le nom vient de Lincoln Park, parc que Chester traversait souvent pour aller aux pratiques). Le disque aux paroles accrochantes, aux vers percutants et aux guitares intenses se vendit à plus de 14 millions d'exmplaires(jusqu'à aujourd'hui). De ce disque, on peut noter 4 "singles" sortis au Canada: One Step Closer, Papercut, Crawling et In The End.

En 2002, après maintes trounées mondiales et autres, un nouveau projet vu le jour sur les tablettes des disquaires: Reanimation, un album entier de remix avec quelques ajouts. Linkin Park, avec plusieurs colaborateurs, remixèrent les chansons d'Hybrid Theory, d'Hybrid Theory EP et d'autres b-side. Un seul single connu au canada: Pts.Of.Athrty.

Environ un an après, sorti leur deuxième album: Meteora (nom d'une immense formation rocheuse située en grèce). Encore une fois, Linkin Park avait la bonne recette: des paroles touchantes, des mélodies enlevantes, et cette guitare qui continue de nous emporter. Pour l'album, ils durent trier au-dessus de 100 chansons. L'album se créea, s'enregistra et arriva sur nos tablettes en 18 mois, ce qui est très long comme processus. Pendant les tournées et les enregistrement, ils créèrent une grand toile qui devint le dessus du livret de paroles. Au Canada, on eu vent de 5 singles: Somehwere I Belong, Faint, Lying Away From You(single radio), Numb et Breaking The Habit.

Travaillant sans relâche, Linkin Park continuèrent de faire des tournées et de créer. D'ailleurs, en 2004, ils sortirent un mash-up appelé Collision Course. Cet album recueille des chansons et de Linkin Park, et de Jay-Z. L'idée première? De faire de deux chansons une seule. L'album fut enregistré en 2 jours et un concert fut donné au Roxy Hall à Los Angeles. De cet album, on peut se souvenir de Numb/Encore qui joua sur toutes les radios pendant plusieurs semaines.

De son côté, Mike Shinoda avait un petit projet personnel: de retourner vers ses racines avec un album solo complètement dédié au rap et au hip hop. Son projet intitulé Fort Minor produit une seul album à ce jour: The Rising Tied. Le rappeur, à l'aide de plusieurs collaborateur dont Styles of Beyond (un band dont il produit le premier album), créa 16 chansons qui parlent de plusieurs sujets: la famille qui s'ennuie de l'artiste en tournée; l'oppression de sa famille durant la 2e guerre mondiale; le monde de la musique; les ennuis familiaux et un ami dans le trouble; etc. L'album aux paroles intenses et aux mélodies recherchées se vendit peu aux US et au Canada mais fit un tabat en Asie.
4 singles: Remember the Name, Petrified, Believe Me et Where'd You Go?

Avec l'âge et la célébrité, Linkin Park se rendit compte qu'ils pouvaient faire beaucoup. Ils participèrent donc à Live 8 pour la lute contre le sida dans lequel ils pris la scène aux côtés de Jay-Z. Après l'ouragan Katrina, ils fondèrent leur propre ONG nommée Music For Relief qui aida les lousiannais dans le besoin. Lors de la rentrée des classes en 2006, ils allèrent en Louisianne pour donner des sacs d'écoles et aider à la reconstruction.

Après 4 ans d'attentes, en mai 2007 sorti Minutes to Midnight, leur 3e album. Changement total d'ambiance: on passe du gros new-metal à de l'alternatif pur et simple, et même des genres de balades! Un nouvel album rafraîchissant qui illustre réellement leur cheminement musical. L'été qui suivit fut rempli d'une immense grosse tournée nommée Projekt Revolution 07. Beaucoup de band, dont Styles of Beyond, Placebo, Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, et bien d'autres. Le genre de gros party qu'ils s'offrent à chaque été qu'ils ont l'occasion d'le faire. À date, on compte 3 singles: What I've Done, Bleed It Out et Shadow of the Day.

Plusieurs autres projets s'annoncent: un album solo pour le chanteur, des films de la part du DJ, d'autres productions d'album pour le rappeur, parmis tant d'autres.

At school i got called Linkin Park girl for since I was about 13, as we were meant to make a 5 minute presentation about anything, and mine was LP of course, and as I wanted to play a few songs, it ended up over half an hour long!oops!at least everyone in my class knows all about lp sonce that :D

I also have to say goodnight to all the band members on each of my posters before I go to sleep (this takes a while - I'm a wierdo I know lol :D ) and cried cos I couldnt go to London Astoria cos I had an exam that afternoon and the next morning, and because I couldn't go to the 02 arena cos I couldn't get tickets. I love that idea about the six kids - yo'd have to get them in the right age order too - and try and get the birthdays right (only jokin about the days lol that has to be impossible).

I also celebrate the bands birthdays, do the harrassing djs thing and tape lp whenever they are on tv to watch it hundreds ansd hundreds of time etc lol :D

EDIT: ooo and i manageD to get someone banned from a forum for sayin bad stuff about lp - i complained about them swearin and said i found their post offensive and they got banned - haha! (sorry had to add this!)
