What's Your Opinion On Reanination?

For me, it wasn't bad. Some of the songs were better on HT though, like Papercut and By Myself. In The End was a softer (you could say) song on HT, and they changed to a rap; not that bad, but, it does lack something.... The High Voltage reanimation was better than the original; much. Forgotten was ify, but not bad. Runaway, My December, One Step Closer, and Points Of Authority were very good in my opinion, and are my favorites from that album. Some of the sorter songs like X-Ecutioner Style, when I first heard that one, I thought, "Okay... what the hell is this...?" But after I heard it, I decided it wasn't so bad. Some of the songs had to grow onto me, but, still, they're pretty good.

So, easy to say, I give an 8 out of 10 to [I]Reanimation.[/I[ What about you?

I like it alot really. I mean there are so many versions of like with you and papercut LP fans would have (like different lives and whatnot) and I think it offers some difference to the mix, keeps songs fresh so we don't get sick of em. I give it a 9. It's one of my favourite albums all together (even if some people really don't consider it an album!)

i love reanimation. usually when people do remixes on albums, i usually hate how the songs don't match up with the singing or how the song gets ruined by too much remixing. reanimation carries the balance of the song's originality and uniquness and makes the songs even more unique than they originally were

Reanimation had a few good tracks like Kyur2 th ich, KRWLING, Enth e End and MY>DECEMBER all the rest felt like it was to rushed or not completely finished T_T but I love how they changed cure for the itch into making it more of a techno dance song... in the end into more of a hip-hop rap song that you can nodd your head and tap your feet to... crawling into a realy unique celtic dark song with alot of cool tweeks and finnaly my december into a techno song more then a soft song =) to me I can't say I like the reanimation versions of these songs better then the original cuz they remixed them good enough that there like a completely differet song and different feel to them =)

For "rock fans" they hate this album
For the fans that actually realize linkin park isn't rock or rap but a mix of some funky style this album is a gem, a gem as much as Hybrid Theory was a gem. In reality.. Reanimation is the best of both worlds packed into one album. Instead songs that were done a certain way.. got the other taste of the other end.

En Th nd was an example of this... it wasn't up till a week ago that it hit me why Mike decided to make this a rap remix. The original... had a feel that the message was "I tried so hard but I got so far but in the end it doesn't matter" It was the original message.. it was you shedding your tears out at the reality of the lyrics.

The remix.. was already going to be something different because you already knew the reality.. you already knew why the hell you cried and try so hard. The remix was more of.. reminder.. it was revengeful thought, it was the feeling you get after you realized why you tried so hard lol. The remix was the answer.. it just sang it.. the reason chester kept getting "chopped / stretched" was because that's what you would remember after you had already found out your "why" as to why it happened. Why you tried so hard.. it would echo in your head Chester's voice.. the feeling you got when you first heard "In The End".

And Mike points it out in the lyric added in the remix version

In the original he states the rhyme he is speaking of he designed to explain in due time. In the remix.. the time has come and he is explaining it why he designed it *to me this is pure genius lol*

Refers to the story the clock is watching which is Mike's rhyme and he explains how he understands now how it watched him and he knows what he did.

When he explains again that he didn't look down below it's like he is moving on.. he is acknowledging it's done!

Which is by all means the truth. The journey *the experience* the thought of what happened and what you learned from it is more important than how it began or how it ended. The fact was is that the journey is something that you will forever remember and that's where he ends the verse with:

"And what it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time"

In the original he says "What it meant to be will eventually be a memory of a time". Which in the original.. he states that basically one self is remembering that sadness that "why".

In the remix he is telling you.. "it was that time, fuck it and let's move on with it"

And of course Chesters voice comes in an repeats with the chop and screw. Why was the:

"I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go "

Because there was no need for it. You read this you understand now.. the feeling was a different one. There was no reason to tell this "individual" his mind or "thought" what his feelings were.. it was done.. no point in singing or crying so thus he wrote a rap of his feeling. Genius. Whoever under appreciate this song.. the really missed out on the conclusion to the "in the end" chapter.

P5hng Me A*wy was the same concept except it was more of synthesized sounds instead of rap.

When I first got Reanimation, I stuck it on in the car & was like 'whoa, not too sure about this.' The next time I put it on was with a couple of friends and we were havin' a few drinks & going clubbing. I LOVED it! I think it is one that the situation or mood u are in affects how well it goes down. It has a whole different feel about it. Guys, gotta say it's another 10/10 for me, just for totally different reasons.

interesting review. I never tried to understand why those songs are like that, because apparently there is a reason. That analysis you did on Enth E Nd if you are right, then it gives the song such a meaningful and powerful meaning that wow... where did all that creativity and artistry went? not sure where, it doesn't even matter because it has been forgotten and apparently it's not in their plans to bring it back.

I recently got Reanimation, and I thought it was a good album, but not as good as the originals. The only songs that I thought were complete utter garbage were P5hng Me A*wy (I really disliked the Live In Texas version, but this one's even worse) and Cure For The Itch, and there were some really good ones like Pts.Of.Athrty, Wth>You, and Rnw@y. Also I think Reanimation would have been much better if it wasn't for those dumb guest vocalists.

each and every remix on "reanimation" has its pro's and con's in comparison to the original; likewise, every song on "hybrid theory" has its pro's and con's compared to the remixes. to me, they're both on equal ground, they're both equally good. but i listen to "reanimation" more. :)

I think Ranimation was very interesting solution. as I see in Reanimation many people could find the things that they couldn't find in HT so it will help someone understand what guys wanted to say to their listeners. First I heard Reanimation I really disliked it, but then, after I listened to it more, I started to like it.
But just one thing annoys me: in most of the songs are like 4 or 3 guys who are rapping and I don't know if it's necessary that so "many" people are rapping.
But overall Reanimation is a good remixed album for a band that actually was very "new" and young.

I thought Opening and Ntr\Mssion as well as the phone calls were cool, they added a sort of flow to the album. Pts.Of.Athrty is one of my favorites, but I HATED Enth E Nd. Frgt/10 was pretty cool, and P5hng Me A*wy was awesome. Plc.4 Mie Haed was just okay, and X-Ecutioner Style and H! Vltg3 sucked. Wth>You and Ppr:Kut were pretty cool, and Rnw@y was okay. My<Dsmbr and By_Myslf were awesome, and Kyur4 Th Ich was weird but cool. 1stp Klosr and Krwlng were AMAZING and were the best songs on the CD. This album was really hit-and-miss for me. I give it a 7/10 stars.

I think you guys are missing the point of why they did that. They remade the music and so you had to mix things up

Reanimation gets a 10 from me. Had the energy, and I think that they should do the same thing for Meteora, mix them up, and do it in the exact way you did it for Hybrid.
